About the Author

Deborah Espinosa works as a photographer and an attorney for Landesa, an international non-profit organization that works in developing countries to help secure land rights for the world’s poorest. At the moment, most of her work is in Africa but she’s also worked in India, Russia, and Central Asia. Deborah is a 2006 graduate of the Rocky Mountain School of Photography Summer Career Intensive. She also holds a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, a M.A. from the Jackson School of International Studies, and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. Besides photography and law, she is crazy about yoga and cycling. If she could figure out how to do them all at the same time, she’d totally bliss out. Headshot by Jed Share.
