Austin Unplugged?

Missoula, Montana was described to me by a friend a few years ago as what Austin, Texas was in the 70′s.  I don’t know much about Austin but I find Missoula to be an upbeat place filled with people who are committed to living their lives to the fullest. Passion flows through the active lifestyles of the cyclists, runners, water sport enthusiasts, horsemen and women, skateboarders, fishermen, skiers, hunters, golfers, folfers and ball players. Community engagement and civic interest seem to thrive here. Fresh local food, cottage industry products and Fine Art permeate the downtown, uptown and on the flats on seasonal weekends. Music is heard from the local bars, auditoriums and city parks. Fine performances of dance, drama and film stretch throughout the year.  Delightful and interesting cuisine is enjoyed across the valley. People speak their mind and take action. Deer, elk, Osprey and Grizzlies are part of day-to-day life here. And so many dogs. Flowers, lavender, body art, dark coffee and fresh beer. Children ride horses and smile. Joyous celebration can be seen often. Home of Rocky Mountain School of Photography.
