January’s Assignment Gallery – Critters

If critters don’t speak to you or your camera, then perhaps you’re not the Dr. Dolittle type…or at least in photography terms anyway. That doesn’t seem to be the case with the animal-loving folks who submitted for January’s assignment; “Critters.” We had another huge response from our readers with their images that cross all borders of the animal kingdom. From crocodiles, to caterpillars, elephants to egrets, and in the air and in the water, we see an amazing variety here. Some are abstract interpretations, some are macro environments of the insect world, and some capture the interaction between human and beast – if you happen to consider a horse a beast. The final result is a broad cross-section and exploration of this subject and just what we had hoped for. Thanks very much for the participation of everyone who contributed to this majestic gallery of fellow inhabitants on our prolific planet. Once again, you have outdone yourselves! We hope that you keep working on these assignments and ideas that will help inspire you in the future. We will always encourage you to keep on shooting and growing in your photography!

And by the way, here is a link to February’s assignment. We’re loving the dedication and involvement you are all showing with our monthly assignments. If you haven’t submitted before – and are lurking in the shadows – February might be a perfect month for you to join the party!  (there might have been a clue in that last sentence, fyi.)

    Hi Bob,

Are these photo submissions only for RMSP students? I have a good Alaskan Brown Bear photo that would have looked good in this photo gallery.

  11. All very good ideas and strategies here- thanks. I am pondering some platforms greater host individual kinds of media and engagement. Twitter is wonderful for roving personalities and finding articles or blog posts. Nevertheless, very few men and women publish video clip or pictures; but, Gplus, a great deal like Facebook in format, makes it possible for for a great format of images, infographs, films. One suggestion could be to brand’ a company’s existence on individual platforms. (Instance: I spot inbound links to content and sound bytes on Twitter, but reserve Gplus for video clips and graphics). If diligent, your organization could get affiliated as the go-to source for individual media information related for your sector. Also, I much like the idea of commencing a chat; everyone knows how intriguing remark sections turn into on posts; a local community supervisor could reguarly engage a significant pool of people on Gplus. That dynamic is tough to copy on some other platforms.
