Every year, we take our popular Photo Weekends seminars “on the road,” and try to hold these events in every region of the country. This year, we’ll be making stops in several cities in the Southeast, including one in the economic and cultural hub of the South – Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham is the cultural and entertainment capital of Alabama with numerous art galleries in the area and is home to the Birmingham Museum of Art, the largest art museum in the Southeast. Birmingham is also home to the state’s major ballet, opera, and symphony orchestra companies such the Alabama Ballet, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Ballet, Birmingham Concert Chorale, and Opera Birmingham. Throw in the major campus of the University of Alabama, a thriving night life & music scene, and various cultural festivals throughout the year, and you’ve got a perfect environment in which to catch the photography bug. We know this because we’ve been to this eclectic city repeatedly and encounter as much enthusiasm for photography there as anywhere we go. Participants from all over the region usually make their way – or for you U of A alumni, will “roll” on down the highway – to enhance and ignite their photography interests at the Photo Weekend. This time around, two awesome instructors and photographers, Tony Rizzuto and Tim Cooper, will be doing the inspiring. If you’re in the neighborhood, we’d sure love for you to come join us in Birmingham!
If interested in keeping your focus – pun intended – on photography after the Photo Weekend, consider joining one of the active photography groups below in the Alabama area. What better way to stay active yourself than by being connected with like-minded enthusiasts?!
Join us for the Birmingham Photo Weekend on February 25-26, 2012.
