I love it. I’d hang it in my kitchen, coffee shop/breakfast café in a heartbeat.
The three berries on the underlying cloth are a bit predictable but necessary and placement is perfect. In fact, almost everything about it is perfect: ‘simple’, white on white (with blue) is perfectly exposed, excellent composition–while the pattern on the cloth does not serve as typical leading lines, it does contain the subject nicely, including the out-of-focus bit at the UL. Your DOF is p-e-r-f-e-c-t.
There is a(n at first) not-so-obvious cool color cast which I’m assuming was by choice; on a black background–as with projection–I might prefer the warmer/normal white balance. The more I look at it the more I want to see the whites white (maybe with a blueberry-blue stroke around the image). Even so, yours is a most satisfying image.
First & foremost, your image has immediate & lasting impact–not something I’d tire of easily! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Yes, I went back and forth on the berries; but as you said, they were necessary. I did have a warmer white-balanced version, but the cooler shot just seemed to work better, at least for me. I LOVE the idea of the stroke around the image! Wish I had thought of that, and will definitely put one on, especially if I print it. Thanks again, Barry.
