DSLR Videos for Macro Photographers

I was on a mission to find videos that people had created using a DSLR and a macro lens the other day when I found “Wood” on vimeo. This video is one of three short videos (Artistry and Metal are the other two)  taken in a furniture factory in Vietnam using a Canon 7D and a 100mm/2.8 L IS Macro.  All three display beautiful macro videography. The director also has great information about the process and his equipment. Check them out.

In my search I also found the following videos. They were all taken with a Canon 7D. These short videos are great examples of macro photography fundamentals in a video format. It’s great to see so many people experimenting with video.

Watch Macro from Michael Randolph on Vimeo.

Canon 7D – Macro (HD) from Shawn Landersz on Vimeo.

NECTAR 7D from alan tregoning on Vimeo.

Thanks, Page! I just received my first macro enabled DSLR, a Nikon D7000, and the idea of macro video is very intriguing!

    • I’m glad someone else thinks so too, Dave. I couldn’t stop watching macro videos once I started. So many options!
